There is snobbery in the coffee world about Mocha not being a "grown-up" drink. I am a fan of a mocha, a proper mocha, although rarely is the espresso and chocolate elements a compatible match which pairs well. Starbucks is one of those places where the Signature Espresso isn't a good pairing with the Mocha Sauce.

Most people just want a hot chocolate and a coffee, but don't want to, can't afford or don't have a need to buy two drinks.

Some people seem to think the hot chocolate part is a weak dilution of the espresso with the chocolate being sweet in an attempt to mask the coffee flavour entirely, but don't apply the same to Americano and Lattes, especially the latter with syrups. Don't get me started with the bastardisation of coffee beans in the terms of making them decaf!
