Prices for water are not racist, they are ludicrous. If bottled water prices were more reasonable less people will buy coffees, teas, refreshas and frappes instead choosing the cheaper option. A shrewd commercial decision of not competing with yourself.

A white guy with a black friend in tow, orders a bottle of water... unhappy at the price, he looks to his friend, before looking back at me and exclaiming that it is racist. I thought everything other than racism being racist was a past meme trend that had faded, clearly not.

He paid and proceeded to talk for five minutes, which what ended up as quite a nice civil down-to-earth interaction. Just proves the point to not pre-judge customer interactions on first impressions resulting in unnecessary hostility.
